Garden of Peace

Garden Of Peace represents my inner world and cross-section of my identity and culture. It celebrates safe spaces, protection of identity and vulnerability through the freedom of nature. This exhibition is a lush space where works that reference Chinese and queer youth culture, and the interaction between these aspects of my identity are explored through paintings, sculpture and installation.

 

I strive to use moments of closeness and vulnerability to enlighten expressions of queer culture in my paintings. Depicting personal fragility to create and explore safe states/spaces is fore-fronted in my practice. Ultimately, exploration of queer culture and personal relationships continues to empower self-development and self-acceptance in my studio practice, reflected in this exhibition.
