The Lanterns Glow

The Lanterns Glow is a solo site-responsive exhibition by recent

Adelaide Central School of Art graduate, Jake Yang presented in

the Historic Phone Booths in the Adelaide Railway Station as part

of OzAsia Festival 2025.

Yang’s site-specific installation is designed around symbolic

Chinese colours (red, green, white, black and yellow) and responds

to this year’s OzAsia Festival themes of joy and togetherness.

Lucky jade, the Chinese zodiac, koi fish, and lustrous silks take

over the Booths and draw the viewer to look closer at the playful

interactions between objects and mixed media that are rich in

traditional and cultural symbolism and motifs.
